In addition to monthly lunch meetings, annual banquets and celebrations of the national holidays, the North Georgia Veterans reach out with tribute banners honoring deceased relatives and close associates who served and recognize the military service of deceased veterans at memorial services and funerals.

The Military Tribute Banner Program is for Big Canoe Property Owners to honor their deceased military veteran family members and close associates. Beautiful 18”x36” patriotic banners, honoring deceased military veterans, are proudly displayed on Lake Petit Dam during the weeks that include Memorial, Independence and Veterans Days.

Part of the mission of NGV is to engage with the local community to promote the values and culture of the United States military. The Recognition Program was developed to advance that goal and acknowledge and recognize a veteran’s military service. The program is available to any veteran who has been honorably discharged.
